Lab Technician

In 2019, I graduated from the University of Redlands with a BS in biology and minors in both chemistry and religious studies. This past year, I became a masters student in Neuroimaging and Informatics at the University of Southern California. At USC, I research alongside Dr. Hosung Kim where I use machine learning analysis on neuroimaging data collected from neonates with Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) to understand the correlation between abnormal brain development and cognitive impairments in school-aged children impacted by HIE. When not on USC campus, I am determined to continually immerse myself in an environment centralized around understanding the mechanisms of the brain. As a result, I found Dr. Kevin Beier’s lab and applied to join. Now as a member of the Beier lab, I plan on furthering my understanding of the circuitry of the brain through the research done in the lab, in addition to my duties as the research technician. Outside of the lab, I enjoy spending time with my cat, learning about other cultures, and listening to music.
