I finished my BS in Neurobiology and Physiology at UC Davis in 2015, and worked in a few neurobiology labs before and after graduation. I spent two years in the Sofroniew lab at UCLA investigating the role of reactive astrocytes in recovery from spinal cord injury, and came to UCI through the Pharmacology program in 2018. I’m interested in the mechanisms of plasticity in addiction, learning, and memory, and use molecular and genetic methods as well as viral circuit tracing to ask how gene expression and molecular changes alter circuit connectivity and behavioral state. I like to ride my bike up mountains, make up new recipes, and read plausible science fiction.
