Max Lin
Graduate Student
As of Fall 2022, I am a first-year graduate student in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics through the combined MD/PhD program. I received a B.S. in Microbiology from UC Santa Barbara. I subsequently spent some time working at a medical documentation startup and doing research in a trauma and vascular biology lab in my hometown of San Francisco before coming to UC Irvine. In the lab, I will be studying the underlying pathophysiology of affective disorders such as major depressive disorder with the ultimate goal of improving diagnosis, treatment, and clinical outcomes. I am planning to pursue a clinical career in psychiatry to complement my research endeavors. In my free time, I enjoy playing tennis, traveling, and following the San Francisco 49ers.
